From the recording Transience
Lyrics
Take these seeds with you as you go
May they line your pockets with mem’ry
to remind us when you’ve gone
you can leave something of beauty
leave us bright echoes of your passing
With stalks unbent and petals shining
Of the strength that met you here
As sunflowers unfold in the dawning
Set the fields ablaze in golden hue
Let them follow sun ‘til gloaming
Blue sky above, yellow flowers below
from east to west, grow resolutely
cheer our days to last throughout the night
though our heads bow till the morning
by day they’ll shine, unfurl, and seek the sun
And we’ll recall the price of planting
Take these seeds with you as you go
May they line your pockets with mem’ry
to remind us when you’ve gone
you can leave something of beauty
